What fascinates me most about photography is its power to freeze a single moment in time. A moment that will never unfold the exact same way again, yet through the lens, lives on forever. Place those moments in sequence, and you get a story. Whether it's personal work or a commercial assignment, storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I believe there's a narrative in everything around us, and it's up to us as photographers to find it and tell it as compellingly as possible through the language of photography.
I've been making photographs since 2003, and over the past two decades I've drawn inspiration from photographers like Ralph Gibson, Elliott Erwitt, Dr. Paul Wolff, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Daido Moriyama, and W. Eugene Smith — artists whose vision has shaped the way I see things. Beyond photography, I'm inspired by the Impressionist painters of the late 19th century, as well as movements like Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, De Stijl, and Surrealism, and by painters like Edward Hopper, Caspar David Friedrich, Norman Rockwell, Caravaggio, and Botticelli. I've also found that reading literature and listening to music help improve my photography.
Do you have a story that needs telling? I'd love to help you capture it.
